POSITIVE ACTION – GRADE 7 LESSONS

Unit 1- Self Concept: Its Definition, Formation and Importance
Lesson 1: To introduce the Positive Action program, and to introduce Unit 1- Self-Concept: Its Definition, Formation, and Importance.
Lesson 4: To introduce the Thoughts-Actions-Feelings circle as it pertains to total self-concept.
Lesson 14: To reinforce the importance of having an identity consistent with image in order to have a positive total self-concept.
Lesson 23: To introduce and apply skills and abilities as an important factor in self-concept development.
Lesson 25: To introduce happiness as it relates to self-concept.
Lesson 26: To reinforce success and happiness as feeling good about who we are, what we are doing, and how we trust others.
 
Unit 2- Physical and Intellectual Positive Actions for a Healthy Self-Concept
Lesson 28: To introduce Unit 2- Physical and Intellectual Positive Actions for a Healthy Self- Concept.
Lesson 30: To introduce the importance of refusing to abuse as a positive action for a well body and a healthy physical self-concept; and to practice refusing abuse.
Lesson 31: To introduce the importance of avoiding harmful substances for a well body and a healthy physical self-concept; and to identify the harmful substances and link them with their negative effects.
Lesson 32: To asses and discuss student knowledge of the physical and mental consequences of drug use.
Lesson 39: To introduce intellectual positive actions and using the whole brain to optimize strengths and weaknesses in both the left and right hemispheres.
Lesson 40: To introduce different kinds of intelligence, and practice the positive action of using many kinds of intelligence as we can.
Lesson 48: To develop and use the third step in the problem-solving process; decision making.
 
Unit 3- Managing Yourself Using Social/ Emotional Positive Actions
Lesson 52: To introduce and apply self-management by using social and emotional positive actions.
Lesson 59: To introduce and apply positive actions for managing the resource of possessions.
Lesson 61: To introduce and apply positive action for managing the resource of thoughts.
Lesson 62: To introduce and apply positive actions for managing the resource of actions.
Lesson 63: To introduce and apply positive actions for managing the resource of feelings.
Lesson 66: To introduce and apply positive actions for managing the emotion of anger.
Lesson 67: To introduce and apply positive actions for managing the emotion of discouragement.
