Creating the Vision

JOVEN’s Creating the Vision is a FREE (income based) out of school time educational enhancement service, with experiential learning and alternative activities that provides youth ages 5-13 with constructive activities designed to increase their interest in education while allowing them to express their creativity in fine arts, dance, music and arts and crafts, leadership develoment, computer classes, mentoring, social and motor development, and physical activities.

The program is designed to provide the six core elements that stimulate a child’s mental, physical and emotional development:

  • tutoring
  • experiential learning for reading
  • sciences and math
  • artistic expression creativity
  • life skills for character development and
  • athletics

Banqueros De JOVEN Financial Literacy Summer Camp is FREE (income based), that provides structured activities to children ages 5-13 which include weekly field trips, swimming/water play, arts and craft, outdoor fun, games and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math). Practical Money Skills Curriculum is an educational component that is incorporated into the program to promote financial literacy for all ages. Space is limited and youth are selected by lottery system. Please contact main office for registration and camp dates.

How to Apply

You can apply at the main office: 507 E. Mayfield Blvd. 78214, off of S. Flores Street.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 pm-12:00 pm or 2:00 pm-5:00 pm.

Required Documents

  • Application for each child
  • Parent Handbook
  • Last/Current Report Card with promotion
  • Birth Certificate
  • Parent/Guardian ID
  • Current CPS Bill or SAWS Bill
  • Proof of Income (Current Tax Return with W2’s, SSD/SSI, Child Support, TANF etc.)
  • Pearce, Losoya Int., Freedom and Heritage
    • Income: One month of current check stubs.
    • Self-Certification Form.
    • Must not reside in a City Council District.
