Creating the Vision

JOVEN’s Creating the Vision is a FREE (income based) out of school time educational enhancement service, with experiential learning and alternative activities that provides youth ages 5-13 with constructive activities designed to increase their interest in education while allowing them to express their creativity in fine arts, dance, music, arts and crafts, leadership development, mentoring, social and motor development, and physical activities.

The program is designed to provide the six core elements that stimulate a child’s mental, physical and emotional development:

  • tutoring
  • experiential learning for reading
  • sciences and math
  • artistic expression, creativity
  • life skills for character development
  • athletics

FREE Summer Camp (income based), that provides structured activities to children ages 5-13 which include weekly field trips, swimming/water play, arts and craft, outdoor fun, games and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math). Space is limited and youth may be selected by lottery system. Please contact main office for registration and camp dates.

FREE NEW Weekday Classroomfor first time ever JOVEN will have a classroom to assist youth with virtual learning with your childs school.   The classroom will offer internet access, limited printing, scanning along with support from program staff throughout the school days. Children must bring own device, headphones, and school assignments along with a sack lunch.

The program will run August 31 – September 30, 2020. Hours are 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Only when school is in session.  No transportation available, children must be dropped off and picked up daily.

JOVEN will follow CDC safety guidelines, including wearing masks, maintain social distancing whenever possible, temperature checks and questionnaire upon entry to program.

Transportation is not guaranteed and is based on enrollment.

Program Hours:

Program is in session Monday-Friday, from 3:00-6:00 pm.

There will be NO program on School Holidays or School closures.

**JOVEN will have program on early release days** (according to school calendar)

  • Last/Current Report Card with promotion
  • Birth Certificate
  • Valid Parent/Guardian ID
  • Power of Attorney/Guardianship paperwork (if applicable)
  • Current CPS Bill or SAWS Bill with current address
  • Proof of Household Income:
    • Current Month of Check Stubs
    • Current SSI/SSD Award Letter
    • Current Child Support Statement
    • Current TANF, Food Stamp and Medicaid Letter
    • Or any other income/benefits not listed above
